For almost 380,000 euros, the only A. Lange & Söhne double split made of stainless steel changed the owner.
At the price of almost 380,000 euros, an extraordinary watch by A. Lange & Söhne was auctioned in Geneva on November 11, 2013 at Christie's "Important Watches" auction: the only double split with a stainless steel case. The double-split watch chronograph already wrote at its premiere in 2004: the double rattrapante chronograph made comparisons of up to 30 minutes possible for the first time.
The impressive auction result was not only far above the estimated price of 96,000 to 140,000 euros. The watch sold in 2008 thus even more than four times the original selling price for the standard model of platinum.
At the same auction, a long time "Luminous" made of platinum from a limited edition of 100 copies was sold for circa 122,000 euros. This corresponds to an increase in value of approximately 75 percent compared to the original selling price. It should have been the first time this model has been auctioned. The watch introduced in 2010 with the nightlit display of the jump digit and the innovative post-tensioning unit is one of the most popular models of the traditional brand.
